Today, a significant number of young people across the Asia region still face a variety of obstacles ranging from unemployment, education disruption, quality health and so on. These issues do not necessarily have to be first hand experiences faced by the young people themselves but issues that are prevalent in communities that young people are living in.
Additionally, amidst the global pandemic, our world witnessed the rise of youth leadership and its importance more so than ever. Their leadership is considered as the crucial backbone in building resilience in the community. The community level interventions we saw during this unprecedented time were backed with young people actively engaging themselves. This evidently suggests that there is an utmost need to tap into the most potential resource we have - young people.
The belief towards young people brought YOUTHive Nepal into the picture - believing that there is still hope for our world - a world that can be built on kindness, love and care; A world where young people are at the core of development; A world where the true essence of youth leadership is practiced.
YOUTHive Nepal, established in 2020, is a network of young people promoting youth leadership through mentoring and peer to peer learning. The main motive of this initiative is to create inclusive socio-economic opportunities for every young person in Nepal.
